Now, that's a STRONG woman: Kareena Kapoor Khan talks about going against norms to marry Saif Ali Khan!

KareenaKapoor Khan is one of the strongest heroines we have today. Not just once, she has regularly helped in changing norms and breaking stereotypes. While at a time when actresses didn't get great work post marriage, Kareena has maintained her top slot even post her shaadi with Saif Ali Khan.

She's always been a shape shifter and doesn't believe in going by the norms. While International Women's Day is a day when womanhood is celebrated and rejoiced, Bebo has given out an interview, talking about how she went against the world to be with the man she loves. And it makes all the more sense.

She said, "Saif and I have been together for nearly a decade, so this was a natural progression in our life. Years ago, when I had started living-in with Saif, I was warned not to do it. Then I was told not to get married, but I didn’t budge from my decision. I have always been open about my personal life, my relationships and also openly talked about movies. I have nothing to hide."

And that's why we love you Kareena!

Here'a all that's WRONG (and right) with 'Machine' song 'Chatur Naar'

$

A music video for CID actor rejects - Daya (played by some actor named Eshan), Abhijeet (Dance India Dance's Mayuresh) and Mustafa Burmawalla - start out with the famous Padosan catchphrase, updates it with a few car references and some 2010-relevant lingo.

It helps to have shots, cocktails and beer buckets on display (or probably consumption) as the 'stars' (tee hee) kickstart the action after DJ makes announcement: This will make your ass shake.

As if on cue, Kiara Advani dressed in metallic silver-blue outfit, twerks at the ruins of some fort overseas as the background dancers re-enact that infamous 90s pop-culture staple MTV Grind.

Aforementioned three actors melt into the crowd and it's difficult to make out who's in starring roles or why Kiara is being passed around from actor to actor.

Rapper Ikka makes all the right noises for those looking for a peppy track with nonsensical lyrics. Nakash Aziz and Shashaa Tirupati sing along for the ride. And then, the middle of the song, has some garbled nonsense as Mayuresh downs shot (where the beats sounds curiously close to ABCD2's Happy Birthday rap portion.)

Padosan's Chatur Naar was one of the film's highlights - pitting Kishore Kumar's voice for Sunil Dutt against Manna Dey's voice for Mehmood. This Machine song has no such contrast (storywise or otherwise) and seems to be in the mix just for the sake of milking the recall of a classic.

Watch the song (at your own risk) here:

Shivarama Reddy, a 31-year-old man arrested for rape in 2014, has been put behind bars once again over suspicions that he raped two more women last week in Bengaluru, reported NDTV.

Shivarama reportedly targetted single women, preferably those living in paying guest accommodation. He would rob and sexually assault the victims. "His modus operandi was to rob women in PG accommodation and rape them if they were alone," Hemant Nimbalkar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Bengaluru East) told NDTV.

A woman living in a city hostel last week complained that she was raped at knife-point on March 2. Three days later, another woman in another hostel complained that a man had robbed and sexually assaulted her. Based on the description of the man given by the first woman, the police identified the accused.

In 2014, when Shivarama was arrested under the Goonda Act, he was released after just a year. In 2013-14, four police cases were filed against him for alleged rape, sexual harassment and outraging the modesty of a woman.

On Tuesday, when police tried nail him down, he allegedly injured three policemen after attacking them with a knife. They caught hold of him only after they shot him in the leg.

Police said Shivarama was from Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district. Fluent in four languages - Kannada, Telugu, Hindi and English - he was was living in and around Bengaluru for the last 15 years.

Bengaluru police say that this time they have a solid case after registering 16 cases against him.

Rajasthan govt proposes to slash stamp duty from 5 to 3% on partition deeds of property

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has proposed to slash the stamp duty from 5 to 3% and the registration fees from 1 to 0.25% on the partition deeds of properties other than the ancestral ones. Presenting the state budget for 2017-18, the chief minister on Wednesday stipulated that the reduction in the registration fees would be a maximum to Rs 10,000.

Raje recalled that in her last budget, she had rationalised the rates of stamp duty on partition of ancestral property. She added that her this year's proposal to slash the stamp duty on division of properties other than ancestral ones is line with her last year's step. In a bid to provide relief to the common man in payment of stamp duty and registrations fees on the documents like sale agreement and the power of attorney during sale-purchase of properties, Raje in her budget also sought to reduce the stamp duty on these documents from 3 and 2% to 0.5% respectively.

She also sought to slash the registration fees from 1% to 0.25 percent with a cap of Rs 10,000 on the two documents, namely sale agreement and the power of attorney. The chief minister recalled that her last budget had, in a bid to provide relief in payment of stamp duty on "loan document without possession" slashed the duty to 0.15 percent to a maximum of Rs 10 lakh. In line with that step, she said, she was now proposing to further bring down the Rs 10 lakh cap on stamp duty to Rs 5 lakh to provide cheaper loan for building houses and developing industries.

She also sought to exempt the stamp duty on the instrument of assignment of debt of a sick industrial unit from bank/ financial institution in the favour of Asset Reconstruction Company and on the instrument of transfer of sick micro and small enterprise as defined in the Rajasthan Sick Micro and Small Enterprises (Revival and Rehabilitation) Scheme, 2015. Other measures to push growth in the real sector were also announced by the chief minister in her budget speech.

A week after the big blow to Tollywood that came in form of #SuchiLeaks, another Malayalam actress has fallen prey to online hacking. Madonna Sebastian's Facebook account was allegedly hacked.

Madonna found out about the hack and soon, she posted a message on her social media account, telling her fan and friends that her account has been hacked. She also asked them to ignore all her posts till she confirms. Not just Facebook, even her Twitter account is hacked, she adds.

Her Facebook post reads - "There seems to be certain people somewhere, who are taking advantage of the fact that I do not have a Twitter account and posting false news in my name.. Let's choose to ignore them... Also the accounts in my name, till I announce that I have created one new account on Twitter here on Facebook.. Have a great evening everyone! [sic]"

This is not the first time this has happened to a celebrity. Recently, Suchitra claimed her account was hacked and lews private pictures and videos of different actresses were put up on her social media account. Trisha's account too was hacked in the past.

They will face the camera together again after a period of five years, when they last worked together for Ek Tha Tiger. And now, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will fly to the scenic city of Tyrol in Austria on March 15, to kick start the sequel, Tiger Zinda Hai shooting in sub zero temperatures. Austria is the first on a list of half-a-dozen international locations, where the spy thriller will be shot, reports a tabloid.

The lead pair will begin with a song sequence, and later plunge into an action scene in the snow-capped mountains and the surrounding areas. Salman and Katrina will be reprising their roles as Avinash Singh Rathore aka Tiger, an Indian RAW agent, who's code-named as Tiger and Zoya, a Pakistani ISI agent who falls in love with him, respectively.

And now comes the cherry on the icing. For Tiger Zinda Hai, director Ali Abbas Zafar has roped in Tom Sturthers, an award-winning action director in Hollywood to choreograph stunts. 'I always wanted to be the best in the world,' says Virat Kohli after bagging top BCCI award

Always aiming to be the best in the business since his early days, India captain Virat Kohli says he very well knew that he has to consistently perform in all three formats of the game to realise his dream. Kohli, who won the the Polly Umrigar award for BCCI's International Cricketer of the Year at the Cricket Board's annual awards here last night, said he always wanted to be one of the top players in the world.

"I always wanted to be one of the top players in the world for sure. So I understood what it would take for me to maintain my form in all three formats. It is very important in transition phase to be available in all three formats and take the country forward," Kohli said.

Kohli also took a dig at his detractors and said he always believed in his abilities although there were many doubters around him.

"All along in my career, there were many people who had doubted the way I have gone about my game. Even now there are doubters and haters all around, but one thing is for sure that I have always believed in myself," he said. "I always believed in my heart that if I work 120 per cent everyday in my life I am answerable to no one."

Kohli yesterday also became the first first Indian cricketer to receive the Polly Umrigar award for the third time. Hailing his teammates for their support and contribution in helping India reach the pinnacle of Test cricket, Kohli said the last 12 months have been a breakthrough year in his career.

"It is been quite unbelievable in the last 10 to 12 months. As cricketers you always have a breakthrough year for everyone. Starting late 2015 to the end of 2016, probably I could term is as the breakthrough year in my career. All the hard work, all the training on a daily basis, all the sacrifices, came together nicely. It could not have been possible without the help of the teammates throughout," he said.

"At times you don't do well but when the champion players in your side step up and everyone delivers what when you start producing results."

Gurmehar Kaur Row: I didn't tweet my hands did, says Kaur after Randeep Hooda explains his actions

$

Gurmehar Kaur, the 20-year-old girl from Lady Shri Ram College on March 8, responded to Randeep Hooda's interview with The Times of India where he said that he should not have responded to her tweets.

"It wasn't gender specific. I was and I am against politicisation of personal opinions. There was an axe to grind and considering the environment in the country vis-a-vis women, in hindsight, I do believe I should have been more careful," Hooda said, adding that he had been the victim of trolls and could only empathise with what Kaur endured.

To which Kaur simply responded

Her tweet had evoked a lot of praise and criticism on social media

It has been two weeks since the Ramjas College ruckus was blown out of proportion. The ABVP got into an altercation with students of the college that resulted in several people, including some teachers getting injured.

In the midst of this, Kaur shared a Facebook post, saying that she wasn't afraid of the ABVP.  "I am a student from Delhi University. I am not afraid of ABVP. I am not alone. Every student of India is with me. #StudentsAgainstABVP".  The post, which had since got viral, evoked several strong reactions on social media, with a number of individuals threatening Kaur with rape. She eventually deleted her Facebook profile.

Kaur had in May last year shared a video on why she was fighting the idea of war. Her father, Captain Mandeep Singh, died in the Kargil war when she was a child. Recalling that incident in a video, Kaur said that as a child, she had blamed Pakistan for her father's death and had even wanted to 'stab a burqa-clad woman in the eye'. Her mother then told her, "Pakistan did not kill her father. War did."

This particular clip, however, did the rounds on social media and her patriotism was questioned, with people even saying that her father would be heartbroken because of his 'anti-national' daughter. It was at this point when cricketer Virender Sehwag, actor Randeep Hooda, and wrestlers Geeta and Babita Phogat, and Yogeshwar Dutt also mocked Kaur.

While Sehwag raised a placard that said, "I did not score two triple centuries. My bat did," Hooda laughed at the 'brilliance' of the tweet and later put up a Facebook post questioning why he didn't have the right to laugh at the joke. "She has the right to protest against what she feels is wrong and it’s also Viru’s right to make a joke about it. We live in a democracy and enjoy the right to freedom of expression! Accusing us of bullying and trolling the girl is wrong," he wrote.

Lucknow encounter: This is how police nabbed suspected ISIS terrorists after Bhopal-Ujjain train blast

$

0

Less than 24 hours after the Bhopal-Ujjain train blast, the central agencies and Madhya Pradesh police arrested suspected terrorists, but this was possible because of intelligence experts in Telangana, reported Times of India.

The report said that a small group of intelligence experts had been closely scouring the web after which the suspects were arrested.

Anti-terror operations were carried out to get hold of terrorists, suspected to be linked with the Bhopal-Ujjain train blast near Jabdi station in Shajapur district of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday in which at least 10 people were injured, three of them seriously

Mohammed Faisal Khan, Mohammed Imran alias Bhaai Jaan, Mohammad Danish, Mohammad Atif Muzaffar were arrested from Kanpur and Sayyed Meer Husain from Kannauj.

The Telangana unit was minutely tracking all the activity of the suspects and slain terrorist Saifullah even before the plan was executed. He was gunned down in an operation that lasted for nearly 10 hours in the thickly-populated Thakurganj area of Lucknow.

"All the inputs regarding identity and location of the radicalised, IS-inspired suspects came from the intelligence-cum-IT experts of Telangana police, which immediately shared these for further action," a senior intelligence officer told the daily.

However, the officer said that though they busted the module, they could not get a sense of the terror plan in real time as it took time to decipher the encrypted online conversations.

Talking about the encounter,  Uttar Pradesh Police (ADG UP) Daljeet Chaudhary said the youth (Saifullah) was self-radicalised and was influenced by 'literature'.

"These days, people self-radicalise themselves. They read their literature and come under its influence. Also, they follow social media for the same," Chaudhary told the media.

The police recovered eight pistols, three passports, more than 600 cartridges, bomb-making instruments, timers, wires, compass etc from the attack site.

SEE PICS: First images of 'Thor: Ragnarok' are out and the Norse God looks like a true gladiator!

So Thor got a makeover!

On Wednesday, the first look of many characters of Thor: Ragnarok was unveiled by Marvel Studios.

Marvel released nine new images as part of the first look of the third movie chronicling the journey of the Norse God to the other end of the universe. The first thing that strikes you in those images is that Thor's hammer and his long, blonde mane are missing. He now wields two giant swords and has a haircut which makes him look like a twin of Russell Crowe's Maximus from the movie Gladiator.

(Image Credit - Marvel Studios & Entertainment Weekly)

On the cover of Entertainment Weekly, Chris Hemsworth's Thor is flanked by Cate Blanchett in her Hela avatar to his right and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie to his left.

(Image Credit - Marvel Studios & Entertainment Weekly)

The synopsis of the movie reads, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first, he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!”

(Image Credit - Marvel Studios & Entertainment Weekly)

Mark Ruffalo is coming back to reprise his role of Bruce Banner. Thor and Hulk were missing from action when the events of Captain America: Civil War took place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thor: Ragnarok will provide the answers to their whereabouts.

Both, Banner and Thor, are imprisoned on the other side of the universe on planet Sakaar. They will have to fight in a deadly gladiatorial battle to survive.

Speaking of returns, Tom Hiddleston's Loki is also back. His sleek black hair and the grin are just the same. But his costume now has a yellow cape. Edna Mode won't be happy to see this.

It remains to be seen if the events of Thor: The Dark World changed the slimy god's behaviour and how he will team up with his brother to take down Hela.

(Image Credit - Marvel Studios & Entertainment Weekly)

Cate Blanchett as Hela looks breathtaking. The smokey eyes with the killer stare show you that the goddess of death and ruler of Hel and Niffleheim is not the one to be messed with.

In Thor: Ragnarok, Hela gets out of prison after a millennium and now wants to end the Asgardian civilization to punish them all because Odin locked her up. But that's not all. Her wrath will also bring the fight to Earth and New York will be the battleground.

Combine this piece of information with the mid-credit scene of Doctor Strange and the concept art of this movie, we will see the Big Apple get destroyed yet again.

(Image Credit - Marvel Studios & Entertainment Weekly)

Karl Urban, Tessa Thompson, and Jeff Goldblum are the new additions to the cast. The new images only show Thompson and Goldblum in their complete costumes.

The third solo outing of Thor is directed by Taika Waititi. Sir Anthony Hopkins and Idris Elba will reprise their roles along with the top billed cast. Benedict Cumberbatch will do a cameo as his Doctor Strange has promised to help Thor find his father.

The movie will release in India on November 3.

A man chides a taxi driver for not knowing Delhi routes. His reply will break your heart

$
0
0

Riots have always affected lives for the worse. Whether it's the 2002 riots, 1992 riots or the 1984 riots, people have lost family members, homes, and some still struggle to rebuild their lives.

Take the case of Devender Singh, a 62-year-old Sikh driver, who returned to New Delhi 33 years after the 1984 Sikh riots after the death of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Gandhi was shot dead by her Sikh bodyguards, soon after Operation Blue Star. The riots that ensued resulted in Sikhs being targeted in Delhi-allegedly by Congress leaders and workers.

Singh, who was working with Maruti at the time, was asked to return to Punjab by his father. After a hiatus of 23 long years, Singh returned to the capital only 10 days ago to earn some extra money for his family. While speaking to senior journalist Prashant Jha, who has shared the story on Facebook, Singh said  he still had two daughters to marry, and his wife's medical bills to take care of.

Jha in his Facebook wrote that the conversation happened after Singh was sent to pick him up to drive from New Delhi to Noida. Singh informed Jha that he did not know the way and at one point got lost when Jha was distracted on his phone. The same thing happened on the return journey, when Jha lost his temper.

The elderly Sikh then shared his story. He said, "If I had not gone back, I would have been a middle level employee in some automobile company."

He was earning about 6000 a month, had four daughters, out of whom he had got three married but one had a troubled marriage and was now back home. But the money was not enough; opportunities had dried up as he began getting older. He still had two daughters to marry, and his wife's medical bills to take care of.

"At the age of 62, 10 days ago, he shifted to Delhi - and was starting a fresh career," writes Jha.

Singh added that he does not recognise the Delhi from 1984 and 2017. "84 main road aise nahin the, flyover nahin the, yeh tu nayi shahar hai ab. Isliye dikkat hai."

Singh's story is one of how futile riots are and how badly it affects the life of common citizens.

Read the heart breaking post here.

Uphaar case: Gopal Ansal's plea dismissed by SC, asked to surrender by March 20

$

The apex court on Thursday dismissed real estate baron Gopal Ansal's plea in Uphaar fire tragedy case and asked him to surrender by March 20.

Ansal had filed an application in Supreme Court seeking to extend the time to surrender for serving the one-year jail term. But, SC dismissed his plea to let him off with undergone sentence in parity with elder brother Sushil Ansal.

The Supreme Court had earlier refused to extend the deadline for Gopal's surrender in the 1997 tragedy.  On Wednesday, the Supreme Court had ordered Gopal to surrender on March 9.

Gopal was seeking relief similar to the one given to his elder brother Sushil, whose jail term was waived off due to advanced age-related complications. However, the Association of Victims of Uphaar Tragedy (AVUT) has moved the top court seeking modification of the order sentencing Sushil to the period already undergone by him in jail.

Founder of the AVUT Neelam Krishnamoorthy, asserted that Gopal has been trying to delay the process of surrendering from a very long time. "For the last ten days, Ansal has been trying to delay and derail the process of surrendering. Whenever his date comes for surrendering, he makes an excuse to seek extension," Neelam told ANI

"As parents we have fought to get justice and after doing so much we have to face such hurdles. People like them with power and money can easily take advantage and change dates every time," she added while expressing anguish over the matter.

The AVUT has also claimed that the Ansal brothers were healthy and in a good condition to travel abroad, suggesting that they are not suffering from any medical complications to warrant any indulgence from the top court.

At least 59 people died of asphyxia and over 100 others were injured in the stampede after fire broke out in Uphaar cinema on June 13, 1997, during the screening of JP Dutta's film Border.

#INDvAUS: Former India captain slams ICC for no action against Steve Smith, accuses them of favouritism

$
0
0

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has criticised the International Cricket Committee (ICC) for not taking any action against Australia captain Steve Smith over a decision review controversy in this week's Bengaluru test. Smith admitted to looking towards their dressing room for assistance over whether to ask for a review of the umpire's decision, calling it a "brain fade".

Australia, however, dismissed charges by home captain Virat Kohli that they had repeatedly resorted to the practice in the match which India won by 75 runs to level at 1-1 the four-match series for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Both the boards issued statements backing their captains and the ICC decided not to level any charge against either Smith or Kohli, whose public outburst could also have been considered a breach of code of conduct.

"It can't be that some countries get favourable treatment and some countries do not get favourable treatment," Gavaskar told NDTV channel. "Tomorrow, for example, if something similar is done by an Indian player ... he also should not be pulled up at all," said the former opener.

The teams renew their rivalry when the third test gets underway at Ranchi on March 16 and Gavaskar said he expected consistency from the governing body.

"I would actually love to see Virat Kohli, if he is given out ... and he looks at the Indian dressing room, gets some sort of feedback from them... Let's see what the match referee and the ICC decide then," added Gavaskar.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy was named in honour of the 67-year-old, the first batsman to amass 10,000 runs in test cricket, and former Australia captain Allan Border, who was the second.

NZvSA, 1st Test: Kane Williamson leads Kiwi fightback, in sight of century in Dunedin

Kane Williamson fought hard to establish his innings before cashing in during the final session to lead New Zealand to 177 for three at close of play on the second day of the first test against South Africa on Thursday.

The New Zealand skipper was subjected to immense pressure from pacemen Kagiso Rabada, Vernon Philander and Morne Morkel but reached 78 not out at stumps with night-watchman Jeetan Patel alongside him on nine at University Oval in Dunedin.

New Zealand could have been even better placed had Ross Taylor not retired hurt with a calf injury while on eight and the hosts 148 for two. South Africa had been bowled out for 308 shortly after lunch when Trent Boult (4-64) dismissed Philander for 21 to pick up his fourth wicket of the innings.

Philander got an early breakthrough when Tom Latham was caught behind by Quinton de Kock for 10 as the pace trio embarked on a war of attrition with Williamson and opener Jeet Raval. The 31-year-old Philander and Williamson engaged in a fascinating battle, with the bowler hammering away on a good length at off stump.

Williamson, however, managed to see off Philander's initial spell and when left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj was introduced, the New Zealand pair began to free up, despite having to deal with the extra bounce from Morkel. The reached 59 for one at tea then capitalised in the final session, Raval reaching his third test half century with a punch down the ground off Maharaj for his sixth boundary.

Williamson brought up his 26th test half century with three successive boundaries from Rabada, which also brought up the century-partnership with Raval. Opener Raval was dismissed for 52 in the next over as he looked to work away a delivery from Maharaj only to pick out Dean Elgar at short midwicket instead.

Henry Nicholls was the other wicket to fall, brilliantly caught by Hashim Amla at slip off Maharaj for 12. New Zealand had earlier taken the last six South African wickets for 79 runs in a little over two hours, with four falling in the first session, including Elgar for 140 and Temba Bavuma for 64 after they had compiled a 104-run partnership.

Tracking a weak trend overseas, gold prices declined by 0.36% to Rs 28,598 per 10 grams as participants trimmed positions. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in far-month June shed Rs 104, or 0.36%, to Rs 28,598 per 10 grams, in a business turnover of 31 lots.

In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in April fell by Rs 99, or 0.35% to Rs 28,530 per 10 grams in 1,042 lots. Analysts said fall in the metal's prices at futures trade was mostly in tandem with weakness in the precious metals in global market after the Federal Reserve signalled that an interest rate increase could happen later this week, which would reduce the appeal of the metal as an alternative asset.

Globally, gold plunged 0.3% to $1,204.28 an ounce in Singapore.

Hyundai to phase out popular hatchback i10 in India

South Korean automaker Hyundai has decided to phase out its popular hatchback i10 in India as it shifts focus to more premium and modern products. Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, has stopped production of the small car, which was first introduced in 2007. Till date, Hyundai has sold a total of 16.95 lakh units of the model in domestic as well as global markets.

It is one of the products that helped Hyundai cement its place in India. "We have stopped manufacturing the model," a company official told PTI. The South Korean firm already has a successful replacement for the model in Grand i10, which continues to rake in great monthly numbers since its launch in the middle of 2013. Although Grand i10 was supposed to replace i10, the company continued to sell i10 for a few more years as demand continued to pour in for the model from various quarters, including fleet operators.

Hyundai, which is the second-largest carmaker in India, is shifting its focus towards more premium products in the country. It plans to introduce a total of eight products in the country in 2017-20, of which three will be completely fresh while the rest will be new versions of the existing ones. Hyundai is also looking for a big play in the hybrid segment with plans to introduce its model Ioniq in 2018, besides mild-hybrids in its compact cars and SUVs. With pollution becoming a major issue, the company plans to explore alternative fuel technologies and avail of benefits from government incentives for such vehicles. HMIL does not have a hybrid vehicle in its portfolio in India.

A fortnight after his death, Sunayana Dumala, the wife of the Indian engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla who was killed in alleged racial attack in the US, remembered him on his birthday saying he was missed a lot.

Kuchibhotla was killed when 52-year-old Adam Purinton, walked into Austins Bar and Grill in the Kansas City suburb of Olathe and opened fire. His friend, Alok Madasani, and Ian Grillot, a bar-goer who tried to intervene in the attack, were also shot, but survived.

"Happy Birthday My love..It feels weird to wish you this way. Missing you a lot," she said in a Facebook post.

She further added, "Hoping you are celebrating and having fun in your new abode surrounded by wonderful things and people, with only love around. Lots of love."

After Srinivas's death, his wife had demanded an answer from the US government asking, what it would do to stop hate crimes against minorities.

Although she did not mention Trump by name, Sunayana did say, "Not everyone will be harmful to this country."

Kuchibhotla was the top pick in 2007 for a software engineer position at Rockwell Collins, an avionics and information technology systems company based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was working at GPS-maker Garmin headquarters in Olathe when he was attacked.

Earlier this month, US President Donald Trump condemned the Kansas shooting. In his first speech before a joint session of Congress, Trump said that he condemns hate in all its ugly forms. "Threats targeting Jewish centres and the Kansas shooting reminds us that we are country that stands united in condemning hate," the President said.

Lucknow encounter | We are proud of Saifullah's father who refused to take his body: Rajnath

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday commended the father of a suspected ISIS terrorist who was killed in an operation in Lucknow, for refusing to take his body.

Refusing to accept his son's body, Saifullah's father Sartaj had said, "One who cannot be loyal to the nation, how can he be ours." He added that, "A traitor can't be our son. We are Indians, we were born here, our forefathers were born here. One who indulges in anti-national activities can't be our son... we won't accept his body."

Rajnath said, "I express my sympathy on behalf of the government and the House will also express sympathy. He lost his son due to terror activities. The government and the House is proud of people like Sartaj."

Saifullah, suspected to be a self-proclaimed ISIS terrorist, was killed in Lucknow in an exchange of fire with the police after a 12-hour stand-off. He was allegedly linked to the blast in the Bhopal-Ujjain train.

"My child has done a wrong thing and I have regrets for it...I would have handed him over to the police had I had about it...The entire world would have seen and noticed how a father could put his own son in police hands," Sartaj told reporters.

"There is no need to hide a disease, else it becomes an incurable wound," Sartaj told reporters.

"We are Indian citizens. I was born here, my ancestors were born here," he said, adding, "Almost everyone in the family is sad. But it is more shame than sadness for what he has done."

Uttar Pradesh Police (ADG UP) Daljeet Chaudhary said the youth was self-radicalised and was influenced by 'literature'.

"These days, people self-radicalise themselves. They read their literature and come under its influence. Also, they follow social media for the same," Chaudhary told the media.
