The Gujarat government is going to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with huge fanfare and special preparations have been started for that. A state level committee formed for planning of the celebrations met on Thursday under the chairmanship of CM Vijay Rupani at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.
The Chief Minister gave three modules for the celebration of Mahatma Gandhi's anniversary. He put stress on the propagation of Gandhian philosophy among the youth, development of infrastructure at the places connected to the Mahatma in Gujarat and financial aid to institutions or organisations working on Gandhian philosophy.
The deputy CM Nitin Patel, ministers Ganpatsinh Vasava, Ishwar Parmar, Pradipsinh Jadeja, officials of the Gujarat government and representatives from the Gandhian institutes in Gujarat also attended the meeting.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said, "We have decided to develop infrastructure at the places in Gujarat which are connected with the life of the Mahatma from his birth to becoming father of nation. We wish to do this so that more and more people visit those places and imbibe Gandhian philosophy in their lives too."
"We have to make this possible through people's involvement and participation. We seek suggestions from individuals, groups of people and organisations to make this celebration grand. We wish that the youth imbibe Gandhian values. We will assist the organisations which come forward with new thoughts," the CM added.
