The state has become a model state in the country as Gramin Gaurav Path in about 7,500 gram panchayats are towards completion out of the total 9,891 gram panchayats in the state, informed PWD minister Yunus Khan on Thursday. “The decision to start the work on elevated road in Bikaner and Udaipur will be started soon,” he added.
Khan was addressing the media after chief minister Vasundhara Raje had taken a review meeting of the department on Thursday just two days ahead of Amit Shah’s Jaipur visit.
Gramin Gaurav Path is an ambitious scheme of the state government of making roads in the villages.
While comparing the construction of roads done during the tenure of Ashok Gehlot with the current tenure of Raje government, he claimed that three times more road works have been done in the state.
He also informed that work has been done to make roads in the areas which were not done during the Gehlot’s tenure. He said even Gehlot has praised him for the works done in Jodhpur.
Khan informed, “The repair of damaged roads of about 14252 km were being done and out of them 25% were towards completion. 40% share of construction of NHAI roads in the country in last three years were done in the state.”
Earlier during the review of the department, Raje expressed satisfaction over the progress made in works related to Gramin Gaurav Path and missing link roads. She said that there should not be delay in the construction of roads in the urban areas which are declared in the state. Raje also said that the work of construction of Ambedkar Bhawan’s in urban bodies should be done as soon as possible.
