This family from Sam village of Jaisalmer is celebrating two joyous occasions. First the birth of a girl child and second electrification of their village after years. This information was conveyed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday when he was interacting with the beneficiaries of “Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana - ‘Saubhagya’ scheme or the rural electrification scheme.
The people of Sam village in Jaisalmer and Gogunda in Udaipur spoke to the PM directly through video bridge. One of the beneficiaries who was delighted to speak to Modi said that the villagers received a call from Jaisalmer a few days ago wherein they were informed that the village would soon be getting electrified. They thought it to be a joke, however, they were surprised when after a few days the village was actually electrified.
A jubilant villager informed the PM that child birth was expected in his family and after electrification a girl child was born. The family named her “Deepika” to mark the occasion of electrification of their village. This made Modi very happy and he said that they had made the girl “amar”. The PM added that hearing this he was feeling happy that the plan of the government to electrify the village and birth of a girl coincided.
Modi also interacted with the beneficiaries of this scheme in Gogunda in Udaipur. Pemaram from the village interacted with the Prime Minister. PM said that thousands of villages have been electrified since NDA government has taken over.
