The Delhi Police on Sunday arrested a senior lawyer after they received a PCR call a little after midnight from a woman in distress.
The victim, who is also an advocate and practices in the Saket court premises, reported that she had been called by the accused to his chamber in Saket District Court on the pretext of discussing a court case late at night on Saturday. When she had reached his chambers at 7 pm, he was in an intoxicated state, she informed the police. They discussed some work after which he sexually assaulted the woman in his chambers. The accused fled from the spot after sexually assaulting the woman. The woman made the call to police after she gained consciousness.
Once police reached the spot, she was taken to a hospital for a medical examination and her statement was recorded. The accused was arrested from his residence in Sangam Vihar, South Delhi. He was produced before the Saket court and has been sent to judicial custody.
