A 7-year-old kid lost his life in a tragic accident in Surat's Varaccha are after falling in an open manhole.
Rohan R Bhil fell in the open manhole of drainage line near Nana Varaccha police chowki on Sunday afternoon. According to a report in Times of India, fire officials found his body a kilometre away from where he had fallen after five hours of the search operation.
The daily reported that water was gushing down the streets of the city after the heavy downpour. Rohan was flown in the open manhole. Witnesses immediately alerted the fire officials and a search operation commenced.
We sent two of our people in the manhole with oxygen masks to look for the boy. However, the distance of Tapi river outlet from the manhole in which the boy fell is about 1 km and after five hours of search, we have found the boy (body)," the daily quoted Chief Fire Officer Vasant Parikh.
Rohan's body was taken to SIMMER Hospital after recovery.
